Moneybags

Tuesday, December 9, 2008
I have noticed that during my last week of vacation about a month ago, and now on this week of vacation, I seem to lose all of my usual inhibitions about spending money. Last time I was on vacation I spent money on familial Christmas presents, multiple dinners out, and all new dishes and flatware. Today I tried to spend money on clothing (but didn't find anything that fit the bill), and so I went and bought a Kitchenaid Classic Mixer on a really good sale at Walmart (marked down to $199 from $279). Later this week I will spend money at a professional sports game as well as at a few other social functions I have planned. Even my grocery bills get higher; I'm not entirely sure if this is because I only grab "the basics" on my work days or because I have more expensive tastes and time to experiment in the kitchen when I am not at work. I suspect it is a combination of the two.

Even though I may not be traveling anywhere exotic, vacation is sure expensive!

You deserve it more than anyone I know!! (But may I add a little note of envy about your new mixer? I've always wanted one!)

My mom has one and when I told her the sale price I had seen, she pointed out I'd be nuts not to get it. I made gourmet pancakes in it last night :)

You totally would have been nuts not to get it!! I told Mark about it and said that I needed to get myself to the nearest Wal-Mart! But then we decided that since we have no counterspace, perhaps it was a purchase that could wait:)
