Wine

A group of kids were talking about Communion with me. They asked whether they will get to have wine at a special Mass coming up, and I said no. I said, "You wouldn't want it; it usually tastes pretty awful anyway." That led to a discussion about what the wine was made with and what it tasted like. One student in the group said she had had a sip of wine before and hated it. Then another student piped up, "My mom loves wine! She keeps a bottle in her bedroom and drinks it all the time. Sometimes when company comes over she will share it with them."

Eyebrows were raised all over the room, all of us unsure as to whether this was something we should ask more questions about, or less...
