For being such a short week with a holiday this past Monday and a bereavement day tomorrow, I definitely got a lot accomplished. I already recounted successfully receiving the last outstanding Confirmation form and hearing back from an elusive physician. This morning I managed to get right through to the back-up speaker suggested by the elusive physician who agreed to come out for us. Soon after, I arranged a time for First Reconciliation for one of the kids who missed, got in touch with her mom and had her in the office before the end of the day.
The poor little girl was terrified. I introduced her to the associate and she promptly burst into sobbing tears. I got down on my knees and in my most pastoral voice, I assured her that he would be very nice because I told him to be (!). She eventually completed her confession and she's now good to go on from there.
I also created a set of Stations of the Cross for children, finalized our Baptism Preparation course, sorted out plans for three upcoming Youth Group meetings and finished planning a Confirmation retreat with a good friend over Thai food.
I'm off to my mother's hometown for the next couple of days to attend and read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 at my uncle's funeral.
