Too Much Excitement

After our Jesus and the Japanese car thrill of the afternoon, my day didn't get anymore peaceful. I was in my office changing from my old clothes to my work clothes when a knock sounded on the other side. It was the woman behind Nipplegate who musthaverightnowthisverysecond something from a cupboard only I have a key to. I bit my tongue, helped her, then returned to see what other excitement awaited me.

Moments after my return, the boss came in and piled two major projects and one request on my desk, preferably done by last night. I did stop for ten minutes to eat my dinner before heading into a very difficult meeting that requires me to get in touch with the diocese to seek assistance today.

As I was closing that meeting, I discovered a man curled up, groaning and bleeding on our front steps. I called for an ambulance and was told to call back if he got worse. Indeed, he started having more trouble breathing and was punching himself in the chest so I called back a second time. He asked for a priest (I think) and I got the associate to anoint him just before the ambulance arrived.

Once I knew he was taken care of, I went over to my tutoring club where I discovered that I had nine children waiting and only one other tutor. I managed to have two of the kids taken home since they had no homework, I sent the three usual suspects with the other tutor and took on the rest myself. Fortunately I had called in a pinch hitter who took on the most difficult child for me while I handled three others and we survived.

Way too much excitement for one night.
