Back in the City

I'm back in the city, but it wasn't without some unnecessary eventfulness. My father was driving me back home in moderately heavy traffic this morning. Suddenly the cars in front of us braked very hard. My dad left ample room and also had to brake hard, but a cube van behind us did not leave quite enough room. That driver reacted by trying to swerve into the other lane and didn't see another car sitting there, so after clipping our bumper he side-swiped another vehicle too. Since we were on the highway, we tried to pull over but the third car thought the cube van was leaving the scene of an accident, and that ended up causing considerable confusion as we took two separate exits off the highway. Eventually the police caught up with all of us and the story was reconstructed back at their detachment.

Some two hours later, I was very happy to be back on the road again. I was pretty desperate for some painkillers by the time we finally arrived at our destination three hours later, probably as a combination of my regular round of Tylenol wearing off, the anxiety and the seatbelt cutting in during our sudden stop. However, having taken care of that pain and rested for a while, I'm feeling just fine again and glad to be staying put for a little while.

I am so glad you're okay. That must have been a frightening experience. Rest well!
