On the advice of a coworker, I took a different route for my walk tonight. She told me I would enjoy the park-like atmosphere of a neighbourhood I hadn't yet visited. Lo and behold, I paused at a peaceful wetland area and spotted a Great Blue Heron in the middle of this major metropolis! Ten minutes from my house. What an incredible city!
