I took my companion on a ghost walk around an older neighbourhood of town last night. The tour was less spooky than unintentionally humourous as we were forced to keep getting out of the road for oncoming traffic (with tour members calling out that quintessentially Canadian expression, "Caaaaaar!"), by our disruption of the 7pm call at a local dance studio whereby hooded characters with faux gas lamps kept appearing in the middle of the group to enter the doorway we were blocking, and by our rather quirky tour guide who found some parts of the tour more emotional than others. It was entertaining, though probably not in the way that they intended.
Following the tour, my companion and I went for a lovely late dinner at a nearby restaurant and enjoyed each other's company, some good wine and good food.
I'm a little groggy this morning after the late night festivities, but I'm going to drag my bones to cake class #3 and learn how to do lettering on a cake, as well as make little bear and clown figures. Next week is simply our turn to decorate an actual cake instead of just a cutting board, so I suspect I'll learn the last important tidbits this afternoon and I may be inclined to give next week's class amiss.
