... for being the most pathetic student in the course today. The teacher obviously had some fantastic decorating skills but barely extant teaching skills. Her lack of patience and the speed at which she took things were downright frustrating. While she included some basic tips like how to clean your tools, she would jump ahead into details about decorating like we all had previous experience (several around me clearly did) and kept mentioning tips for when we are selling our cakes to customers. Uhm, not quite. I can't even make a rosette look normal.
To top things off, I heard her talking negatively to a friend about another student in her morning session, saying she had no talent. I can imagine what she would tell her friend about me after the afternoon session wrapped up.
I found the whole experience very off-putting and it took all of my power to think positively and keep reminding myself I was there to have fun and learn something. Every negative voice in my head was saying I was doing this for me, I wasn't enjoying it, and I should just get up and walk away. Somehow, I managed to hang on until the session was over.
I came home, cleaned my tools, and as I put them away, I wondered whether I would be going back next week or not.
