As I am only in the office two days this week, I have had quite a bit of pressure to get everything done for this coming weekend as well as early next week since I simply won't have time later on. Despite a steady stream of unannounced visitors this morning, I managed to input and collate over 120 sacrament registration forms, call the parents who missed the sacrament registration meeting this past weekend, complete my Vatican II lesson and handouts for Sunday, prepare a lesson plan and handouts for my grade 8 class visit next week, finalize the games for the youth group Christmas party, give some unsolicited advice to the boss, return several emails and clean up my workspace so I can actually find my desk. I was marvellously productive for a Tuesday.
The only thing that didn't come to fruition was a conference call I had been anticipating all day. Maybe tomorrow.
I also proofread the bulletin for the week for our secretary. Sometimes this can be quite tedious, but occasionally it is very amusing. A couple of gems caught my eye today: "We will be selling Colombian arts, crafts, jewelry and hammocks." (Reminded me of Sesame Street: "Which one of these things doesn't belong?") We were going to be offering 2009 Missals for $5, which I noted in the margin seemed like a major rip-off to me. We had a Mimi printed in the bulletin as a Mini. We also were praying for a sick man on one page who was listed as dead on the other page. It's good to have a second pair of eyes to proofread before we go to press tomorrow!
