I filled the boss in briefly on our first experiment with a dedicated youth group meeting this afternoon. He seemed very impressed by the numbers and the ideas they had, including their suggestion that we have a walk through a nearby ravine at an upcoming meeting. When I said I hadn't been there yet, he jumped up and grabbed a map of the area and ran his finger along the pages, explaining in detail where it was, where I would find an arena, a great hill for tobogganing, some open space for games, and so on.
He noted, "It's so peaceful and beautiful."
Delighted to hear that, I said, "You're welcome to come too, if you'd like."
He paused a moment, shaking his head, and noted, "I'm too crazy."
I suppressed a giggle as I agreed and said, "I understand."
