I'm always amazed at how distinctly unproductive I am without Internet. What on earth did I do before the Internet? My day revolves around it so much. My computer is almost a paperweight without web access. I have a few specific things I was planning to do this afternoon at work:
- catch up on my Outlook messages that have been gathering since Thursday evening
- plan a nature hike in a nearby ravine with the Youth Group, for which I would like to Google some information including how far, sights to see, an outdoor prayer/meditation we could use, etc.
- brainstorm interactive ideas for my session with the grade 8 Confirmation class tomorrow for which I need some inspiration, also by using Google
- email my announcements to the secretary (whose office is two doors down from mine!) -- but email is her preferred method of receiving these so she can just cut and paste without retyping them all...
- email the parents in our Sunday school program to seek a pianistically inclined volunteer
- update my church Facebook account
- blog about our Youth Group meeting and some upcoming events on my church blog
Honestly, I'm next to useless without email and Google. St. Isidore of Seville, patron of the Internet, pray for us!
