... could we have a bulletin announcement thanking parishioners for preparing, among other things, "anti pasta" for a dinner.

I can only surmise that the group was rallying against Italian food in general, or perhaps they need to stop relying on the spellchecker for their proofreading...

I always wondered why Italian weddings served anti-pasta before the pasta dish.
My Canadian-Italian husband explained to me (as with most words that I fumble that are not of the English language) that I should just not try to spell or speak. LOL!
Now I purposely butcher the Italian language for his sake.

Now I know that it is antipasto, which sort of means 'meal before the main dish'.
So now I can now say it is anti-pasta because it urks him to no end!
