Say What?

A good friend of mine and I were having lunch last week, when she mentioned that her friend had set her up with a minister on a blind date. As she told me a little bit about his background, she mentioned that he had a background in math and noted, "He wants to be a prof at X [College]."

Apparently my mind was still stuck somewhere on the minister thing, and apparently I didn't hear the last word in that sentence. My eyebrows raised and I said sharply, "He wants to be a prophet and you're okay with dating him!? 'Prophet' didn't set off any alarm bells!?"

"Prof AT," she clarified.

"Oh," came my sheepish reply. We agreed on my assessment, however: "Prof AT is good; if someone you are interested in mentions they want to be a prophet, you might want to keep looking."
