I can't believe my two weeks of vacation are just about over. It has been a busy time with just enough downtime to satisfy; a few family visits, an out-of-country roadtrip, a CFL game, a couple attempts at fireworks and lots of BBQs. Lots of friends moving on and saying goodbye is always tough.
It's funny how summer brings old friends out of the woodwork, though. Someone I haven't spoken to in six months just got in touch saying she has a new job and may actually get together this time to celebrate. I won't hold my breath, but ...
Another priest-friend who has been out of the country got in touch and set up a lunch date while he will be visiting the church to help out the boss next week.
In the meantime, I will enjoy the few hours I have left and get ready to return to reality with all of its warts and joys.
