Seeking Inspiration

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

I spent my workistry hours on campus today. I arrived at work at 8:40, checked my messages and then caught public transit to campus. I spent a total of 6.5 hours gathering resources for my youth group from three different libraries.

When all was said and done, I did about $4 worth of photocopying and made 6 pages of handwritten notes ... I felt like a student again and was very excited and relieved when I started finding some pertinent ideas at the second library.

It was so nice to be out of the office on a beautiful day too, just to change things up. I ended up sneaking a peanut butter sandwich in one of the libraries rather than taking a lunch break since I didn't want anyone to go and reshelve the 20 or so books I had out, so I came home a little early since I missed lunch and the work day was nearly over.

En route home, I met a former student from my Chaplaincy days for cheesecake and got caught up on his life. He's a bright young man and I am sure he will go very far.

I am ending off the day with a little B16 encyclical and a little guitar.
