Summer Camp

I ran the first day of a summer camp at my workistry today. First thing this morning the boss came into my office and announced, "I fixed the foosball table! Do you have the ball?" I hurried behind him over to check out this feat of engineering he concocted out of a plastic paint tray, after nearly 365 days of my begging someone to do something about it. With the located ball and a quick spit and polish, the table was operational for the first time in something like four years. I was more than amused to watch him and the custodian play each other in earnest for several minutes -- just like little boys again. I also gave the air hockey table a quick vacuum and got it operating again so the kids would have something other than basketball and Twister to do.

When the munchkin patrol arrived, they arrived in full force -- 20 showed up, 2 of whom were high school aged assistants and the others who were all under the age of 14, mainly in the 10-11 age bracket. They listened to the three rules I laid out for them (be respectful, be clean and be safe) and set about eating, drinking and playing to their heart's content. Hopefully we will see most of them back next time.

I'm seeking some inexpensive floor hockey equipment for them and having a difficult time finding out where one would buy that in this neck of the woods. Anyone know where to start?
