Goings On

I'm dreading this weekend. I unwittingly scheduled two huge events on the same day, so I will be running around like the proverbial headless chicken from sunrise to sunset on Sunday. Since I have been covering in-office duties more than is typical to assist the secretary the last couple of days, I realized with dismay last night that I had planned to get into the space to hunt and gather today, but a provincial activity will prevent me from doing so. I guess Sunday morning will be even earlier than I thought. Bah.

I have altar server training scheduled for later this afternoon; the five young people who requested it have gradually dropped out, so I'm left wondering if anyone at all will show up this afternoon. Maybe I have officially trained every willing young soul in the parish in my eighteen months there. We're not exactly hurting for servers anymore so that wouldn't be the end of the world and I might get home before dark.

One bright spot in the week: I had a nice dinner at one of my favourite local eateries with a friend last night who I don't hear from very much at all these days. And I have leftover pizza for lunch. In weeks like this, you celebrate what few good things you can...
