Holiday Lunch

Wednesday, November 25, 2009
The morning was a busy one as I tried to get ahead on multiple tasks before taking a few days off next week. Shortly after noon, several of us piled into the cook's car and headed for "Thanksgiving Lunch" at a nearby Italian restaurant.

Now, there are no Americans in the house so I wasn't sure if we were celebrating 7 weeks late or being multicultural in our celebrations. The lunch was apparently a front for a birthday surprise for someone who didn't show up at all.

Lunch was very good and four of us shared the little birthday cupcake that we bought for the missing guest of honour. After paying for lunch for us, the boss told us all to go home early. There were no complaints. The secretary and I walked back home together and everybody else scattered faster than I could keep track of.
