Levity

I was called in today and taught 6 of 7 periods -- exhausting! I also worked on something for regular work, cleaning up somebody else's mess since I was in the appropriate forum to do so. It wasn't a bad day, all things considered.

After work I headed downtown, ran a few errands and met a soon-to-be-priest friend for supper. He is always so meek and mild-mannered and giggly whenever anything remotely rude passes in front of him, so he is an awful lot of fun not only in general but specifically at an Asian restaurant. He ordered "Ho Fun" for dinner, which had us both in stitches. We had a great time catching up, he told me all about his current assignment, his impending ordination and various other aspects of his life. I caught him up on a few things that had happened and changed since he left in the summer.

Then he took me to a great little dessert place. I laughed when we met up with another priest friend, a confrere of his, who also knew the little dessert place. I teased that I had never heard of it, saying, "Thank you, Americans, for showing me where to get good dessert in a city I have lived in for 7 years." They both laughed, noting, "It's a religious thing."

The evening provided some much needed levity. Tomorrow morning, I meet another priest friend for breakfast and am very excited to see him again.
