I just returned home from a lovely dinner with a friend who is preparing to give a talk to my youth group next weekend. I wanted to give him some pointers and hear a little about what he has in mind, plus. it has been ages since we have seen each other so a good catching-up was in order.
He invited me to his home to watch a movie afterwards, but I declined because I'm a little tired after all of the errands I ran today. Plus, my Tylenol is wearing off a bit and my arm is a little achy post-vaccination, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to make it an early night.
I had to wonder about some of my friends who have had the H1N1 shot who complained of severe pain afterwards. One said she couldn't lift her arm at all. One said I should prepare myself for a load of pain. One said it was the worst pain she ever had.
This is like a "1" on the pain scale to me. The muscle is a little sore -- no different from the annual vaccine. All I can think is that these folks must never have had major surgery, must never have had a giant retinal tear and detachment, must never have had a gallbladder attack... and if this is the worst pain they have ever had, perhaps I could trade lives with them for a day.
Grow up, people.
