Just like clockwork, the boss arrived at my door at 8:45am to take me to work. I was extremely grateful when I saw that all of the water laying around yesterday had turned to ice.
I did some work on the youth group for January throughout the day and waited for a sock for my cast that didn't arrive. In the mid-afternoon I trekked up to our school on the invitation of one of my little ones to see her perform in a play. It turned out that I knew just about every child in the whole play either through altar serving, our tutoring club or the youth group, so it was really great to see so many of them singing and acting. They were fantastic and it was a real honour to see the child who invited me to hear her sing all three verses of Silent Night all by herself in front of the entire school. She is so shy and has such low self-esteem, but she got up there and shone -- what a treat.
I'm delighted that it is my weekend. I am going to lay low after a week of lots of physical exertion just to get around in the weather conditions. About the only benefit I have noticed to this whole foot thing is that I have lost a little weight with all of the hauling and slugging to get myself around with the very heavy cast and my crutches. I have to make a cake for my youth group's Christmas party this weekend but otherwise things should be pretty low key.
