Things have been rather quiet here because I have been on vacation since Friday afternoon. It's my first paid vacation of my life and I must say, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Spending like a drunken sailor too: Christmas presents, stuff for the new home, a couple of winter pieces.
I got a little bad news yesterday; I have a way of keeping the medical profession in business, it would seem. My doctor informed me that I need to have my gallbladder removed. It's been a good thing I've been saving up my sick time because I'll be off work for about a week whenever that actually happens, probably in the new year unless I have a particularly bad end of this year.
Today I'm prepping for a dinner party and a housewarming of sorts. I have a few of my colleagues and friends coming over and I've planned an elaborate menu during which I am looking forward to breaking in my new kitchen and dining room.
Off to the bakery!

Glad that you get a chance to do the shopping etc...
Yuck about the surgery.
Make sure it isn't too close to Lent and all the activities that revolve around that!
Thankfully you don't really need all that gall.

Unfortunately my new year's resolution for 2008 was NO hospitalizations. I have done really well until now; too bad I didn't make the same resolution for 2009! I will make sure it doesn't happen in late March or April because that is my very busy time. This will be my 14th surgery so it's not exactly something I am unused to, but I still wish parts of me would stop breaking down...
