I had a very good and productive day off. Since the weather thankfully cooperated, I started the day off by meeting a friend and her two adorable kids at a trail near my place, and we all had a fun walk through the woods and a little 'picnic' until the ants started to attack us. En route back she spotted and kindly gave me a four leaf clover -- perhaps enough to influence positively some of my luck? I got it home in one piece and pressed it in my Oxford Annotated Bible.
I decided to be a bit productive and do some laundry before I set out again, this time to change my appearance a bit. After the nun comment yesterday, I decided a haircut was in order and I got a new layered look with which I'm really happy at a nearby shop.
I had contemplated going to a movie this afternoon, as I have really been wanting to see "My Sister's Keeper" and, yes, I admit, "Brüno", but I have decided to rent "Gran Torino" instead on PPV. Earlier this week a priest friend highly recommended it to me, saying it reminded him very much of the transition taking place in the parish where I work. Based on his description, it sounds like it will be worth checking out.
All in all, a very lovely day.
