Disaster

Tuesday, August 18, 2009
I had a meeting with the boss today about our pandemic plan, and he also wants to establish and flesh out a disaster preparedness plan including bomb threats, intruders, tornadoes, floods, fires and all sorts of happy things like that.

Towards the end of the day he came into my office and confessed the thing that worries him the most is a worldwide technology failure. Think Y2k times ten. It took all my strength not to laugh when he confessed very sincerely, "It keeps me up at night."

I assured him I would develop plans if I could, but they would take a long time and would not be something I could rattle off in a day or two. But, given enough time, I would try to problem solve the biggest disaster in the history of our time.
