All good things must come to an end. My vacation ended today when my father very kindly dropped me back off to my home with a vehicle full of household supplies and groceries for my empty fridge and cupboards. I spent a while getting ready for the work week ahead and then working on a little Christmas project.
I attended Mass in my hometown this morning and ran into an old priest friend there. It was good to see him, but not so great to hear his homily on vocations in which the only vocation that mattered was the holy priesthood. If you weren't interested in the priesthood, nothing else mattered. Not even the nuns, brothers, and certainly not the laypeople who fill the church. It's a bit frustrating to hear that opinion still in 2009.
I think I'm ready to face whatever awaits me tomorrow. I hope.
