When I was adjusting to my cast on Monday, I thought it seemed rather loose especially as I tried to climb up and down stairs in our parish hall. My foot kept shifting inside, which I thought was a little strange, but I didn't realize what was going on until I got home yesterday afternoon and took the whole thing apart.
One of my airbags wouldn't inflate.
After trying to get help in my parents' hometown, I ended up having to make a whirlwind trip back to the big city to get the defective bag replaced. Four hours on public transit later, the cast is fitting more snugly and I have better support.
Back to my convalescent vacation tomorrow. I'm going to keep my foot elevated as much as possible and plot a weekend with an out-of-town visitor without too much walking required. The visitor called last night and was so concerned about my foot that he insisted on driving all the way here to see me this weekend. Pretty cool.
