The only things my boss said to me yesterday about my new cast were that I would get lots of questions about it, and I would have to slow down.
"But I don't like going slow!" I moaned.
It took me 20 minutes to walk to the subway this morning, a journey that usually takes ten if I dawdle. I was sitting on the bus this morning thinking about the timing of this thing. I find out on the First Monday of Advent about my broken foot even though it has been fractured for three months.
Advent is a season for anticipatory reflection. I'm going to have a lot more time for reflecting now that I am forced to slow down and getting from A to B requires a whole lot more effort. God's sense of humour at work? Perhaps.
