Weekend

I just returned from a wonderful weekend out of town with my "special friend". We visited two winter festival sites where we took lots of pictures and ate lots of winter treats, we visited a Cold War bunker and broke most of the rules in sitting in spots we had been forbidden to touch, we watched several movies, ate Valentine's dinner in a revolving restaurant high above the city, and I got to see his work, church, home and meet his family. I even got to practice some Cantonese to impress his folks: Gong Hay Fat Choy, Sun Tie Geen Hong. It was a very memorable and special weekend, and I think we both enjoyed getting to know each other even better over the three and a half days we got to spend in each other's company. I couldn't have asked for a nicer Valentine's Day weekend.

I returned home to real life this afternoon, and I was too tired to accomplish the lofty goals I had set for myself, but I will get them done eventually. Tomorrow being Ash Wednesday means I will be overseeing a school Mass and two distribution of ashes at the local school, among other administrative tasks I have to accomplish in my very short work week.
